Module Seventeen

ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. It’s basic tenet is that we all come forth as perfect extensions of The Divine (Source Energy, God, Universe, etc.) and that through our experiences with trauma, we hold memories (belief systems) that separate us from our oneness with who we really are.

The main practice of ho’oponopono is the recitation of the sacred prayer:

“I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you.”

It is believed that through reciting the ho’oponopono prayer we “clean” our memories that are based in our traumatic belief systems and bring us closer into alignment with the truth of ourselves.

Today’s work is to use the ho’oponopono prayer whenever those old “black ink” thoughts and beliefs sneak their way back into our thoughts.

Whenever you notice yourself dipping your toes back into the pool of old thought, simply recite the prayer:

“I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you.”

The prayer is not specifically directed at anyone or anything necessarily, but it can be directed by you to whatever or whomever seems to help you in that moment. You could direct the prayer at yourself, your inner child, the circumstance, the belief system, or The Divine. The most important thing today, is that when you notice the thoughts that do not serve you creeping back into your consciousness, you employ the ho’oponopono prayer!

“I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you.”
