Week 1: The Elevation of Your Mindset

  • Discover your core values.

  • Reflect on moments of alignment & uncover your true self.

In most wisdom traditions throughout history, or practices in which devotees hope to discover a path to enlightenment, there lies a common thread woven in the respective tapestries of their teachings, creeds, and scriptures. Through the ages the most recurrent and underlying realization of spiritual seekers, is that what is created first in the mind, is that which is experienced ultimately in the perception of the believer.

From ancient teachings as far back as Hermeticism, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, all forms of Paganism, Christianity, right up to the more modern schools of spirituality of the New Age, and even our current popular thoughts of mindfulness, Law of Attraction, and other metaphysical modalities (Phew! That's a lot of teachings.), the common thing is this: “As a man thinketh, so he is.” (Proverbs 23:7)

And so, as we inhabit this time of the calendar year which has become synonymous with becoming a better version of ourselves, we must first approach our mindset…or how we “thinketh”, in order to better set ourselves up for ultimate success in creating the world in which we desire to live.

There is no better way (that we have found) to uncover the ways in which we think, than to examine the emotional landscape of our being. For it is there, that we are met with the true genesis of our thoughts and outlooks on any given circumstance or experience of our lives: Our core values, our core emotions.

Once we find within ourselves the resonance of our core values/emotions, we tend to move with ease and grace towards the life that we ultimately desire (our purpose). And, to consciously place our thoughts within the scope of our purpose is to live from a truly revolutionary mindset.

Below is a recorded guided meditation designed to assist you to look within and to traverse to the edge of your subconscious mind and uncover your core values, emotions, and sense of purpose. Please set aside time to listen to the meditation in a quiet setting where you will be undisturbed. Be sure to have a pen and paper ready for journaling after the meditation.

Once you have discovered your two core emotions (values) please fill them in to the blank spaces in the following template:

“My purpose in life is to (insert core emotion) myself and my higher power; and to express the (insert secondary emotion) that follows while I inspire others to feel the same.”

We first experienced a version of this meditation years ago with our friend, Mastin Kipp, at an event that he was hosting in Orlando, Florida. It moved us so much that Val was inspired to create a version of his own and it has proven to be a pinnacle of self-exploration for many attendees at events and courses that we have hosted since.

Please feel free to save, print, and post these affirmations everywhere and anywhere you’d like, to remind you to stay in the vibration of your truest self; aligned with your core values, emotions, and sense of purpose as you move throughout your week. We think making them the wallpaper on your mobile device would be great too!

We look forward to seeing you on our first group coaching call next Sunday, January 18 @ 11am EST and we anticipate with excitement hearing extensively about your experience with the guided meditation!
