The first step of any life adventure is to identify your starting point.
Much like taking out your phone and typing your destination into your GPS to plan your desired route from your current location, it is equally as important for you to know where you are starting from as it is to know where you would like to arrive.
When starting to work on expanding your intuition and psychic senses there are several questions to take into consideration.
Take out your journal and answer the following questions:
Do I believe I’m already intuitive? Psychic?
When has my intuition been spot on in the past? (List instances where you’ve had a strong intuitive ‘knowing’ in the past and it turned out that you were right.)
What psychic senses do I most identify with? (Click here for a link to the list of psychic senses)
Do I usually ‘go with my gut’ or do I tend to second guess my intuition?
Do people seek out my advice or see me as a good judge of character/circumstances?
Do I tend to live more in my analytical brain and try to make sense of every life circumstance or am I suggestible by my feelings and/or emotions?
In what ways would I like to be able to follow my intuition more?
Once you’ve identified your starting point, the next step to expanding your intuition and tuning into your psychic senses is to identify where you want to go. For example, do you want to trust your intuition in your daily life when making choices for yourself and your family in situations that you need to make decisions for your well being, joy, and happiness? Or, do you want to develop your psychic senses to help others in some sort of service or spiritual business? What is your goal and/or expectations for learning more about tuning in to your intuition and psychic senses?

Again, take out your journal and spend some time reflecting on the following questions:
What psychic senses do I already possess/practice?
How do I currently use these senses in my daily life or in service to others?
What psychic senses would I like to develop more? (pick one or two senses that you would like to strengthen)
How will I use these senses in my daily life or in service to others?
HOW DO THE LAW OF ATTRACTION AND PSYCHIC ABILITIES COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER?
There are a lot of teachings about the Law of Attraction and how to use the understanding of its principles to attract or create the life you desire, but does the LOA have a seat at the table in a discussion of intuition and psychic senses?
In its most basic definition, the Law of Attraction can be defined as ‘like attracts like’. Like thoughts attract like beliefs, like beliefs attract like behaviours, like behaviours attract like circumstances, and like circumstances attract like life experience. If our desired outcome is to attract love, money, a certain job, car, house, or any other tangible thing, it is often taught that by intentionally setting your vibrational attraction point to the vibration of how we would be/act/feel when we have that which we desire, it helps to speed up the process of creation of that which we wish to experience.
If you desire having a brand new sports car, you can imagine how you would feel when you walk out to that car of your dreams, parked in your garage; when you open the door of your car, slip inside its sleek interior, enveloped by the fresh smell of the leather seats, wrapping your hands around the thick and sturdy steering wheel, closing the door and hearing the strong and substantial ‘THUD’, turning the ignition and feeling the vibrations of the immense power radiating from the incredible engine, and when finally pressing your foot down on the gas pedal feeling the acceleration propelling you into your future with an RPM so monumental that it takes your breath away; you feel a wave of joy, fulfilment, and satisfaction that makes you feel so unbelievably alive in that moment - WAIT! STOP THERE!!! Did you feel that? Did you play along with me there, on that little field trip into Feeling Town? Did you notice how I created, in your imagination, the adventure of actually having that sports car in this moment here and now? Did you notice how you could engage your senses of smell, touch, and sight - all in your imagination, yet you still had an emotional experience?
The process of using the LOA to bring about desires you hold in your life is often called ‘manifesting’. The practice of manifesting is to get yourself into the ‘feeling’ of how you would ‘feel’ when you have your desires, in your imagination…before you actually experience them with your physical senses in your physical world. Because LOA says that ‘like attracts like’, when you are intentionally feeling the way that you believe you would feel when you have that which you desire, you are attracting life circumstances with the same feeling that you’re emitting; summoning an experience from the unseen into the seen.
But what does this have to do with intuition and developing your psychic senses?
Well, everything is energy. You are energy, I am energy, and everything we perceive with our eyes, ears, noses, fingers, or taste buds is energy, and just as we perceive these tangible expressions of energy with our senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste, we are also perceiving unseen and intangible energies with our psychic senses. Have you ever walked into a room and felt a shiver run down your spine, suddenly felt the heebie- jeebies, and possibly felt unsafe? What if those feelings were actually us perceiving energy in ways that we just haven’t practiced? What if we remained curious enough to find out that those energies are giving us information just as the food we put in our mouth gives our taste buds information that sends messages to our brain? Just as you tune into your sense of hearing to discern and gather information from someone speaking in another room, you can tune into your psychic senses to receive messages from energies that we cannot always otherwise perceive.
By using the principle of LOA we can intentionally ‘tune in’ to the vibrations of the unseen energies and sense the messages that they hold for us. Like attracts like, and so to receive these messages from spirit or other unseen energies we must access those unseen senses to attract them into our perception. The exercises that we will do going forward will help you to work out your intuitive muscles and allow you to perceive, in more confident ways, the energies that most usually go unobserved by the physical senses.
We will start out slowly, and gradually step forward into a more confident and assured practice of accessing our psychic senses.
It’s important to note, that just as there are unsavory people in this world, who we would most definitely not want to be alone with in a dark alley, there are also some unsavory and not-so-nice energies in the unseen world which we don’t want to have calling on our psychic hotline at 3am while we’re trying to catch some zzz’s. It is very important to energetically protect yourself before opening up to receive any messages from spirits or other entities.
I’ve written and recorded a prayer for you to use to open yourself up to receive intuitive and psychic messages while also setting intentions and boundaries for your own spiritual, mental, and physical protection. It is of utmost importance that until you have created your own process for energetically protecting yourself from unwanted psychic interaction, that you utilize the prayer recorded EVERY time you set out to practice using your psychic senses.
Once you have prayed and tuned in you can begin your first exercise.
For this first exercise there are two variations that you can practice, but the process is the same:
ASK. BELIEVE. RECEIVE.
Ask for guidance, or for whatever messages you can receive in this moment. You can be general or more specific, keep in mind that the more specific you are when asking, the more precise your messages will be.
Believe that in that moment you ask, your answer is already available to you. Try to diminish all thoughts of pre-conceived notions or expectations. Try to remove all thoughts of doubt and try to be as open as possible.
Receive the messages that come through for you. They could come through as images that you see in your mind, or lyrics to a song, a certain smell or taste. Depending on the psychic sense that you’re working with, there are a myriad of ways that you can receive messages.
For the first variation of this first exercise we will be using an oracle card deck. If you don’t have an oracle card deck you may want to look into finding one.
Begin by taking out your journal and writing your question on the top of a blank page. Your question could be something like: “What should I do about this situation at work?” , or “I need guidance on what would be the most enjoyable vacation destination.”, or even as simple as “What messages are available for me right now?”
Once you’ve written your question you can relax and begin to shuffle your card deck. Spread the cards out in front of you and hold the intention of being drawn to the perfect card. You can let your hand hover over the cards from left to right and back again. You may feel a warm or buzzing sensation in your hand as it hovers over certain cards, or you may just feel ‘drawn’ toward a certain card. Don’t overthink the process. Just stay open and curious and try to allow yourself to feel guided to what card you will pull from the deck.
You may not feel anything whatsoever and that is completely okay. Trust that this practice will help you to hone the skills of tuning into your intuition and simply pull a card.
Many oracle card decks come with some sort of an accompanying booklet that will help you to translate the card with some ideas on what the card is meant to represent. You can read whatever interpretation is given in the book, but I strongly urge you to follow the next steps:
Sit with your card for a bit and check in to see if your card is evoking any emotions in you. Do you feel happy? Sad? Determined? Confused? Is your card conjuring images in your imagination or causing you to recall any past events, people, places, or circumstances?
Take about ten to fifteen minutes to return to your journal and to ‘free write’ (writing without thought of what you’re going to write) on anything that is coming to your mind when holding the image of the card at the forefront of your attention.
If you do not have an oracle card deck you can practice the second variation of this exercise.
Begin by taking out your journal and writing your question on the top of a blank page. Your question could be something like: “What should I do about this situation at work?” , or “I need guidance on would be the most enjoyable vacation destination.”, or even as simple as “What messages are available for me right now?”
You may want to put on some soft music or light a candle to create a relaxing and conducive environment. Allow yourself to get lost in your imagination for a few minutes, paying attention to any feelings that come forward.
Are there images dancing around in your mind? Any smells or tastes? Any emotions? Do you feel happy? Sad? Determined? Confused? Is your imagination conjuring anything or causing you to recall any past events, people, places, or circumstances?
Take about ten to fifteen minutes to return to your journal and to ‘free write’ (writing without thought of what you’re going to write) on anything that is coming to your mind when holding the question that you’ve written down at the forefront of your attention.
The more you practice the exercises in this course, the more your confidence will grow, and you will begin to trust your instincts. Try this exercise several times before moving on to the next module.
